My Story

I became passionate about holistic health, yoga, and attachment styles through my own healing journey. Born in 1988 and raised in San Jose, CA by Filipino parents alongside two older brothers, I often struggled to feel truly seen, heard, safe, and loved. As an INFJ and Highly Sensitive Person (HSP), I was frequently labeled “too sensitive” and tended to be quiet and introverted. I found comfort in listening to jazz, doing yoga, journaling, and writing poetry. Later in high school, I discovered a sense of community and emotional connection through dance, band, choir, and the performing arts.

At age 26, I began talk therapy and couples therapy to manage PTSD and emotional triggers affecting my romantic life. While therapy provided some validation, it didn’t give me the practical skills I needed to improve my relationships.

I moved from one relationship to another—including ending an engagement, getting married, and eventually divorcing—always searching for deeper healing. When I felt lost and anxious, I returned to therapy, but was mostly met with encouragement rather than concrete tools.

I spent much of my adulthood living in Seattle and New York City, working in roles that involved teaching, health, and supporting others’ growth. Before coaching, I taught preschool and elementary school, ran a music teaching business, and worked as a children’s fitness coach, dance instructor, and nanny. I also managed a physical therapy clinic, worked as an executive assistant at Microsoft, and performed as a professional dancer and trainer for Disney. These diverse experiences taught me a lot about human connection, emotional wellbeing, and the importance of creating safe, supportive spaces.

In 2022, I met my partner, Ioan, while we were both working as crew members on a Disney Cruise ship. We connected right away, and I knew this was something special—something that inspired me to take a radically different path. But once the contract ended and we returned to separate countries—me to the U.S., him to Romania—things became difficult.

I struggled with our clashing attachment styles (I was Anxious Preoccupied; he was Dismissive Avoidant), the emotional toll of long distance, eczema flare-ups, and broken sleep from stress. Hoping to find relief and save our relationship, I went back to talk therapy. After trying three therapists who didn’t quite “get” me, I kept asking for tools and strategies—not just validation. Eventually, I was told I had an “anxious brain,” handed a few book recommendations, and advised to “just not take things so personally.”

Frustrated, I quit therapy in March 2023 and decided to take healing into my own hands. I dove deep into natural, alternative methods to heal my brain and body—focusing on addressing root causes rather than just managing symptoms or “dealing” with my anxious attachment and underlying resentment.

Through this journey, I discovered a more effective and efficient path to emotional resilience by combining holistic health, yoga, and integrative attachment theory. Practices like subconscious reprogramming, improving my sleep, meditation, and learning how to heal core wounds, meet my own needs, communicate clearly, and set boundaries brought me so much peace—finally!

My eczema healed, my sleep was restored, and my mind became calm. I felt more secure and confident, and my relationship began to flow with love, understanding, and connection.

Experiencing these life-changing results inspired me to get certified in the very techniques that healed me. I began health and wellness coaching in December 2023, focused more on attachment and relationship coaching in April 2024, taught my first yoga class in May 2024, and quit my corporate job in September 2024 to grow my business full-time. In response to requests from clients and friends, I launched The Calm Love Podcast with my friend/producer/editor Jennifer Ligsay Jancasz in October 2024 to help share this work more widely.

Today, my partner and I live in Brașov, Romania, with our 6-year-old Goldendoodle, Graham. Ioan continues to work on a cruise ship, while I coach clients virtually in both their personal and professional lives. Lately, I’ve especially enjoyed supporting soulful entrepreneurs—because in my experience, relationship-building is at the heart of every meaningful venture.

I would be honored to guide you in healing your brain, body, and attachment style from the inside out—so you can enjoy vibrant health, more happiness, and thriving relationships.
